Kathmandu: The online registration for the ‘8th Swayambhu Run–2027’, organized with the aim of linking the heritage, health, and community unity of the Swayambhu area with sports, has been opened from 7 AM. Players and the general public interested in participating in the run can fill out the online form to register.
The Swayambhu Athletics Training Club has previously organized running and sports-related programs in various parts of Nepal. With the goal of promoting sports, developing a healthy lifestyle, and spreading the culture of running in the community, the club has been conducting such activities in different areas. This time, the club is organizing the 8th Swayambhu Run–2027 in collaboration with eHeraldPost.com. The event management will be handled by Laya Media Pvt. Ltd.
This edition, to be held on Saturday, 25th Poush 2083 (January 9, 2027), will feature a 4.6-kilometer fun run. Various age groups and the general public interested in sports can participate in the run. The registration fee for participating in the event has been set at five hundred rupees.
The run will start from Bhagwanpau in Swayambhu. According to the planned route, participants will run through Kimdol, Chhauni Hospital, Chhauni Chowk, Sitapaila, Buddha Park, and Barudkhana before returning to Bhagwanpau to complete the run. This route covers various locations in the Swayambhu area, allowing participants to experience the cultural and historical surroundings of the area along with the run.
Participants will receive their bib numbers and T-shirts on Friday, 24th Poush 2083 (January 8, 2027). Since online registration is already open, the organizers have urged interested participants to fill out the form on time to secure their participation.
The 8th Swayambhu Run aims not only to raise awareness about regular running and physical exercise but also to promote the historical, cultural, and heritage identity of the Swayambhu area. With the message ‘Run for Heritage, Health, and Community,’ this event is expected to bring together the local community, youth, sports enthusiasts, and the general public in a shared activity.
Meanwhile, the organizers have called on individuals, organizations, and businesses interested in helping to successfully carry out the program to sponsor it. People and institutions wishing to contribute to the promotion of sports, health, tourism, and local heritage can collaborate with the program. Through sponsorship, they will also get the opportunity to connect their organization or business with sports and the community.
