Kabul / Zurich: After the Taliban took over Afghanistan, now its former Vice President Amrullah Saleh has formed a government-in-exile. Saleh has said that he will be the acting president of this government-in-exile, as former President Ashraf Ghani is neither with him nor is he present in Afghanistan. Saleh is currently present in Switzerland. A few days ago his brother was killed by the Taliban in Panjshir.
In a conversation with Afghanistan’s Khama News Agency, Saleh said- I have formed a government-in-exile. This government will be the legally recognized government of Afghanistan and for the world. The Afghanistan Embassy in Switzerland has also issued the same statement as Saleh. It was sent via fax to most of the world’s news agencies and embassies.
This statement clearly states – the government formed by the Taliban in Afghanistan does not exist according to international law, nor does it represent the Afghan people. Talks have been held with the people concerned about the government-in-exile. Our country is currently occupied by outsiders.
The statement said that after former President Ashraf Ghani leaves the country, his First Vice President Amrullah Saleh will take over the reins of the country. It will have active executives, judicial and people with legislative powers.
The special thing, in this case, is that the statement did not mention the name of any other leader or officer other than Saleh who would be part of the caretaker government. The name of Ahmed Shah Masood, who challenged the Taliban in Panjshir, is also nowhere to be found.
After the Taliban’s capture of Kabul, Saleh moved to the Panjshir Valley with some aides. Since then, he has not been in the hands of the Taliban. According to some reports, Saleh reached Europe via Tajikistan and then to Switzerland. The Taliban have not yet responded to Saleh’s announcement.-Agency
