Beijing: After the visit of Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, the lower house of the US Parliament, to Taiwan, China has become furious and has started the biggest military exercise. This exercise of his will goes on for two more days.
On the other hand, America has deployed its warship around Taiwan, but China is firing missiles from its Rocket Force. It has fired several Dongfeng ballistic missiles into Taiwanese waters. On the other hand, Taiwan’s Defense Ministry says that 68 aircraft and 13 warships have crossed the middle line in China’s action. The ministry condemned China’s exercise and said it disturbed the peace in the region.
The ministry is closely monitoring the Chinese exercise maneuvers and the relevant defense systems have also come into active mode. This action of China has given rise to concerns about whether China might take over Taiwan by force. As this situation is increasing, it is visible how strong the Chinese army is compared to Taiwan.
Let us know how strongly Taiwan stands in comparison to China in water, land, and air.
China has the world’s largest army:
China’s army is several times larger than that of Taiwan. According to 2019 figures, China has by far the largest army in the world. Currently, there are 2 million active soldiers in the Chinese army, whereas, Taiwan has 1.7 million active soldiers. At the same time, Taiwan is number one in terms of reserve force, while China is number six. China’s reserve force has 5 lakh personnel and Taiwan has the top position with 1.5 million reserves. When it comes to paramilitary services, China overtakes Taiwan – China has 6.24 lakh soldiers compared to Taipei’s 11,500 troops.
War machines:
in terms of battle tanks, China is stronger than Taiwan, it has 5,250 tanks. At the same time, Taiwan has only 1,110 tanks. China also claims to have 35,000 armored vehicles while Taiwan has only 3,472.
Air power:
The Chinese army is stronger in the air as well. China’s air force has a total of 3,285 aircraft, while Taiwan’s army is made up of 741 birds. China has 1,200 fighter jets and the most advanced fighter jet, including the J-20. At the same time, Taiwan has only 288 fighter jets.
Naval power:
china has the largest navy in the world. Taiwan has 4 destroyers and 22 warships, whereas, China can deploy 41 destroyers and 49 warships. At the same time, Beijing is powerful with China’s submarine warfare, 9 nuclear strikes, and 6 ballistic missile submarines. At the same time, Taiwan has none of these. However, despite being weaker than China, it is not so easy for it to attack Taiwan. The US and Japan have assured that if any action is taken on Taiwan from China, they are ready to provide military assistance.
In October 2021, US President Joe Biden said that the US was committed to defending Taiwan. At the same time, in June 2021, the then Deputy Defense Minister of Japan Yasuhide Nakayama said at a conference, “We have to defend Taiwan as a democratic country.”- Jansatta.com
