Kathmandu. The collection of details for the National Identity Card will be done from the wards of the Kathmandu metropolis. For this, the National Identity Card and Registration Department organized an orientation for ward presidents and secretaries on Friday. Previously, the details were collected from the National Assembly House. While making a presentation at the orientation program, the Director General of the department Tirtharaj Bhattarai said that the plan is to start work from a few wards and provide services to all wards within a week.
The concept of creating a national identity card is to digitally identify the citizen’s identity, and integrate personal and biological identity. National Identity Card and Registration Act 2076, Procedure 2077 are the legal basis of identity cards. It includes demographic and biological details. Demographic details include name, date of birth, gender, nationality, permanent temporary address, parents, spouse, children’s names, and citizenship information.
Similarly, the biological details include ten fingerprints, eye color, face photo, and other details. While giving information about identity cards, Director General Bhattarai says that the real identity of a citizen is verified through such details. Since services such as public service flow, peace, and security, social security, tax system, and passport will be connected with it, service delivery and management will be easy. Each person is given a separate identity card of 10 digits.
When going to give the details, you need a copy of the Nepali citizenship certificate, if the date of birth is not shown on the citizenship certificate, then you need a certificate of educational qualification, passport, or similar official proof of date. If the permanent address is different from the one mentioned in the certificate of citizenship, the certificate of residency should be taken to Sakkal. In case of a change of address due to state restructuring, no such document is required. In the case of married people, if the names of the spouses are not mentioned in the citizenship certificate or if they are different, a copy of the marriage registration certificate is required.
