Statements from gold smugglers and murder-accused completes

Biratnagar, May 8 : Recording of statements from 30 persons who were arrested in connection with the 33.5-kg gold smuggling scam and associated murder of Sanam Shakya has been completed today. The process of recording of statements from the 30 arrested out of 63 named in the chargesheet registered by the District Police Office on Wednesday in the case was completed.
According to District Court Registrar Nawaraj Dulal, the recording of statements that began on Thursday has completed today. He further informed that the hearing would begin from coming Thursday to decide whether the accused would be freed on bail or kept under judicial custody.
