Minority group is mainstreamised: Chairman Dahal

Kathmandu, Jan 19 : Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has argued that the women, indigenous, and minority groups have come to the mainstream of State affairs due to the people’s revolution the Maoist party waged. During a programme organized at party central office Friday to congratulate the lawmakers under the proportional quota for provincial assembly, Chairman Dahal reiterated that the decade long struggle brought the backward community to the mainstream.
“The political mainstreaming of such community disregarding the parties is a matter of happiness,” he said, adding that it has also helped them ensure their positions in social sectors. He however said the women, indigenous, and minority were yet to be provided rights. The Chairman urged the lawmakers to carry out special role so that the inclusive democracy would be expanded. A total of 35 members to provincial assembly were honored by the party at the programme.
