Reception held on 85th birthday of Japanese Emperor

Kathmandu : Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, Masamichi Saigo, hosted a reception here today on the occasion of the 85th auspicious birthday of Japanese Emperor, Akihito.
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun and Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali were among the dignitaries present at the ceremony.
Also present on the occasion were the former prime ministers, government ministers, special class officials of the government, Japanese nationals currently residing in Nepal and distinguished persons from various callings.
Addressing the function, the Japanese ambassador said Japan is Nepal’s close friend and has been assisting in the social and economic among various sectors for long time since the past.
He added that as a friend Japan wanted to see a prosperous Nepal, and expressed commitment that his country would continue its support to Nepal in the coming days also.
