Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi has said that he has announced his candidature for the post of party president at the party’s 14th general convention to be held from November 26 to give the party a majority in the upcoming general election. Inaugurating the liaison office at the Baneshwor Banquet in Thapagaun, New Baneshwor, in preparation for the presidential candidature, Nidhi said that his candidature was aimed at giving a majority to the Nepali Congress in the general election.
Stating that he has given his candidature to deepen the relationship between the Congress and the voters, Nidhi said that he has given his candidature for the benefit of the party and the people and not to defeat anyone. Stating that the demand was for the Congress to be united by rising above factions and sub-factions, Nidhi said that only the Congress could take ownership of the constitution and the country. He announced his candidature to connect the tree imprint of the Congress with the voters and the people, to connect the mountains, hills, Terai, from Jhapa to Kanchanpur.
Vice President Nidhi expressed solidarity with the demand of the district presidents of the Nepali Congress that the list of active members should be made public in all the districts as 6743 ward conventions will be held next week. He said that the contribution, support, and trust of BP Koirala, the founder of the party, played a role in getting his personal life introduced in the national politics at the General Convention of the Nepali Union in 2036 BS, was memorable throughout his life.
Earlier, the fund had inaugurated the liaison office by priests and pundits of various holy temples including Shupatinath, Janaki, Dakshinkali, Baglamukhi, and Doleshwor. The liaison office inauguration and candidature announcement meeting organized by Nidhi was attended by a dozen district chairpersons of the party establishment and non-establishment parties.
