Surkhet. Karnali Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has resigned. He resigned from the post of Chief Minister on Monday in the name of the people of the state. The UCPN (M) and the Nepali Congress (NC) had agreed to run the government alternately after Chief Minister Shahi took a vote of confidence on April 20.
At that time, the Nepali Congress and the current ruling CPN-Maoist had agreed to run the government alternately in the states.
It was agreed that the UCPN (M) would run the government till November 30 at the latest and then the Nepali Congress would take the lead.
