Kathmandu. President Bidya Devi Bhandari was welcomed at Kamalpokhari by Kathmandu Metropolitan Chief Balendra Sah (Balen) and Deputy Chief Sunita Dangol. They welcomed the President who came to Kamalpokhari to greet the setting sun on the occasion of the Chhath festival. Before coming to Kamalpokhari, President Bhandari visited Gaurighat and observed the decorations there, and worshiped Chhathi Mata.
The President offered prayers to the setting sun in the reservoirs of Guhyeshwari, Kamalpokhari, Nagpokhari, Tankeshwar, Shankhamul, Balaju, and other places in Kathmandu. In this way, special decorations have been made in places that are not allowed.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba reached the bank of the Bagmati River in Thapathali and worshiped. This year’s Chhath festival will end tomorrow morning after the sun rises. A public holiday was given today on this occasion. After the festival, government offices will open from tomorrow.
