Kathmandu. On Friday, the police officer who beat the doctor of the trauma center while clearing the road while President Bidya Devi Bhandari was riding has been suspended. Senior Police Constable Shambhujang Gurung of the Metropolitan Police Circle Public Service, who is said to be involved in the incident, has been suspended by the District Police Complex Kathmandu.
Similarly, Nepali Congress General Minister and Member of Parliament Gagan Kumar Thapa has opposed the attack on doctors. He said that such attacks are indecent and tragic and demanded action against the culprits. Mentioning that citizens’ perception of the President’s institution is becoming negative due to the Tamzhamwala style, Thapa insisted that it is necessary to change the tradition and style of causing pain to the citizens to make it respectable and dignified.
On Friday afternoon, during the ride of President Bidya Devi Bhandari, the doctor of the National Trauma Center was shot dead by the baton charge of the police. Janithlal Singh was injured.
