Kathmandu. The CPN-UML fielded former Inspector General of Police Sarbendra Khanal in Tanahun Region No. 1 and District President Ram Prasad Neupane in Chitwan Region No. 2, and the voters of both the constituencies have become agitated.
The UML secretariat meeting decided to nominate Sarvendra Khanal, a permanent resident of the same district in Tanahun 1, where President Ramchandra Paudel was elected. Khanal wanted to be a candidate in the election held on 4th November. But the party decided to make him a candidate in Kathmandu 6.
Khanal, who became a candidate from the same constituency, was defeated. Now again, according to the demand of Tanahu workers, Khanal has been made a candidate for the by-election in that constituency. Similarly, it has been announced that Ravi Lamichhane, who lost his position with the Supreme Court’s decision in Chitwan 2, will be a candidate again. In that constituency, UML has nominated the famous leader of Chitwan, Ram Prasad Neupane.
UML Chitwan district president Neupane has been supporting the development of Chitwan and the happiness and sorrow of the people for a long time. For this reason, UML has decided to make him a candidate according to the demands of workers and voters.
Due to the wishes of the party leaders and workers and the choice of the voters, it has been decided to make them candidates, UML Deputy Secretary General Purthiwisubba Gurung said after the meeting. UML has said that a decision will be taken after a few days of study for the by-elections to be held in Bara Region No. 2 where Vice President Ramsahay Yadav was elected.
