How did educational reform happen? In response to the query, Balendra Sah (Balen), head of the Metropolitan Municipality, says, “We have mobilized 57 teaching assistants in 50 schools for mathematics and science.” We mobilized 17 educational facilitators for all schools to improve mathematics, science, English, social and Nepali subjects. With their involvement, the academic development of students is not only within the classroom. There has been an overall increase outside.
He further says, ‘We are providing 10 hours of ICT education training to 90 teachers. The training was held in collaboration with Digital Beyond to connect technology with education and empower educational activities. Technology-friendly skill development, subject-specific capacity development of teachers and improvement in teaching and learning pedagogy, basic training for the development of overall awareness of teachers, exchange of best practices in teaching and learning, and improvement of student results are programs that support our success.
After the Metropolitan Corporation emphasized extracurricular activities conducted in schools, students became more interested in their studies. The activity of the school in teaching activities started to increase. The result of conducting subject training to enhance the learning of teachers by making one school a learning hub in each ward has been reflected in the classroom and examination results.
