Nepalgunj : Six people were killed and 17 other injured in a head-on collision between a microbus and truck here this morning. The microbus (Ra 1 Kha 1662) coming to Nepalgunj from Tulsipur of Dang and the truck (Lu 1 Kha 7729) en route to Dang from Nepalgunj collided near Muguwa stream of Rapti Sonari rural municipality-9 at around 9:15 am, killing the four on the spot while two died in course of treatment at the Kohalpur Teaching Hospital, Area Police Office, Kohalpur in-charge Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ramesh Bahadur Singh said. The injured are undergoing treatment at the same hospital. Identities of the dead have not been ascertained.
Nine injured in road mishap Kawasoti : Nine people were injured when a passenger bus they were travelling in met with an accident at Arunkhola on the East-West highway in Nawalparasi district this morning. The bus with registration number plate Me 1 Kha 2201 was going towards Nepalgunj from Kakdbhitta when it overturned on the highway at 5 am, police said.
The nine passengers who sustained injuries in the incident are being treated at Chitwan Medical College. Sixteen other passengers did not suffer any injuries and are safe and sound, the Dumkibas Area Police Office stated.
