Bangabandhu Gold cup: Nepal out from group stage

Kathmandu : Defending champion Nepal has been knocked out of the group stage of the Bangabandu International Gold Cup tournament. Nepal has to return home after losing to Palestine in its second match of the group stage. In the match held this evening at the Sylhet District stadium of Bangladesh, Nepal lost to Palestine by 0-1.
The first half of the match had ended in a goal-less draw, but Mohammad Alibisad of Palestine scored in the 70th minute of the match that proved enough for a win. Earlier on Wednesday, Nepal had lost to Tajikistan by 0-2. As defending champion, Nepal had directly qualified for the tournament. Nepal was grouped together with Palestine and Tajikistan in Group A. Group B comprises of Bangladesh, Philippines and Laos.
