On the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the commencement of postgraduate studies in the Nepali language by the department, a collection of all the works of Siddhidas Mahaju, the great poet of Nepali language, has been made public. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has allocated Rs. 5 million to digitize about 30,000 books stored in the Central Department of Nepali Language and convert them into e-libraries.

Launching the class and unveiling the book, Kathmandu Metropolitan Chief Vidya Sundar Shakya said that a candidate who does not protect the art, culture, heritage, and language of Kathmandu will not be able to win the upcoming election. He said that the political and administrative leadership should pay attention to this as Kathmandu is a major cultural city of Nepal and its existence can be maintained only if its art, culture, language, and heritage are preserved.-Chandramani Bhattrai
