New Delhi. Aftab Poonawala strangled Shraddha to death in Delhi’s Mehrauli area 6 months ago. The killer cut Shraddha’s body into 35 pieces, hid it in a refrigerator, and threw them one by one at different places. On Tuesday, the police took the accused Aftab to the area where the bodies were said to have been dumped. According to the police, 13 pieces have been recovered from there, but it will be confirmed only after the forensic investigation whether they are related to the victim or not.
Protest in Delhi and Mumbai: A massive protest has started on Tuesday outside the Mehrauli police station in Delhi to take strict action against Aftab Poonawala, accused of killing his female companion Shraddha by becoming a monster in Delhi. The protesting women and men are carrying posters saying ‘Stop Love Jihad’ and ‘Wake up Hindu sisters wake up. He alleged that there could be a religious motive behind the murder. They were calling it a big conspiracy. Leaders of some religious organizations also participated in the demonstration.
Earlier on Tuesday, a vigorous movement started against it in many cities of the country including Delhi, and Mumbai. People were demanding the strictest action against the accused alleging the religious motive behind the murder and love jihad. People have raised many questions about the investigation of the police.
In Mumbai, BJP leader and MLA Ram Kadam and his supporters on Tuesday raised slogans against her live-in partner Aftab Amin Poonawalla, accused of killing Shraddha Walker in the Ghatkopar area. They beat up the accused Aftab Poonawala by placing the effigy on the road. MLA Ramkadam told the media, “I will write a letter to Delhi Police requesting them to probe the apprehension of ‘love jihad’ behind the murder of Shraddha. Is there any group or gang behind the such incident? Is any enemy country involved? It should be probed.
