Beijing/Washington. China is betting big on suppressing Uyghur Muslim opposition in Xinjiang province. Here, to erase the identity of the Uyghur Muslim population, Uyghur girls are forcibly married to Chinese youths. Young people from the Han community in China are being given a special allowance for marriage. According to the Washington-based Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP), if an Uyghur girl opposes forced marriage, her parents are jailed.
According to the Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP), no Uyghur girl can oppose marriage to a Han boy. Only after Xi Jinping was elected as the General Secretary of the Communist Party for the third time, did 100 Han young men and Uyghur women got married in Xinjiang province. These marriages take place in the presence of communist officials. A Han boy is paid about 4.5 lakh rupees to marry an Uyghur girl. For this type of inter-caste marriage, couples are given free accommodation, medical facilities, and other special allowances, but all these benefits are issued only in the name of the Han boy.
This type of inter-ethnic marriage between Han youth and Uyghur girls is part of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s One Nation, One Family project. They believe that this kind of inter-ethnic marriage can suppress the opposition of the Uighur Muslims in the western Xinjiang province. In China’s Xinjiang region, the Uyghur ethnic and religious minorities are being subjected to brutality. This was revealed by the report of the United Nations Human Rights Commission. It is mentioned in the report that people’s human rights are being violated here. They are taken hostage and tortured.
