Moscow. Former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett, who tried to negotiate an agreement between Russia and Ukraine, made an extensive disclosure in an interview on Saturday. Bennett said that he had got Putin to promise not to kill Zelensky.
Naftali Bennett has also shared the 4-hour interview on her YouTube channel and on Twitter. In it, many types of information have been given regarding the diplomacy of the initial phase of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Bennett said during the interview that he had met Putin in the early days of the war regarding the agreement. During this, he had asked Russian President Vladimir Putin – do you want to kill Zelensky. In response, Putin had said – No, I will not kill him. On Putin saying this, Bennett said to him – so may I understand that you are promising me not to kill Zelensky? Putin said yes in response. Bennett also told that immediately after the meeting with Putin, he called Zelensky and informed him about it. He said that I have just come out of the meeting, and said he will not kill you. Jalensky asked on this are you sure? So I said yes I am 100% sure.
Bennett is known in Israel as a fundamentalist Jew. Apart from this, he is also the owner of some big tech companies. He has also been the Chief of Staff for two years. Bennett became prime minister in 2021 by ousting Benjamin Netanyahu, who was considered his political mentor. Columnist Anchel Pfeiffer of the Israeli newspaper ‘Haaretz’ said – Bennett is a nationalist, but not stubborn. Religious, but not a fanatic. He is a soldier but lives a life of luxury. Tech entrepreneurs earn millions of dollars through their companies.
A month after the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, Bennett discussed the Ukraine crisis with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin. Israel, which has a substantial population of Russian immigrants, offered to mediate in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. However, their meeting was inconclusive. Now the war is about to complete one year. There is no sign of its ending.
