Kathmandu. Nepal Police’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) said that Ramesh Kumar Pokharel, a former official of Nepal Samarjung Company, and fake Mohi Devnarayan Maharjan were arrested in the Lalitanivas land case. After opening the file of land embezzlement of 143 Ropani lands of Lalitaniwas in Baluwatar, which was a tripartite collusion of land mafia, employees, and political leadership, the police have started the investigation again.
The CIB arrested three more people for their involvement in the embezzlement of Lalitaniwas land on Sunday. Those arrested yesterday are Shivji Bhattarai, Dhaman Kumar Karki, and Baburaj Maharjan. According to CIBIK, Maharjan is a fake Mohi, while Bhattarai is the then Ward Secretary of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4 and the surveyor of the Karki surveyor office in Dillibazar. Bhattarai is currently working in the cooperative department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. He is a sixth-level employee of the metropolis.
Gurung, Shah, Gautam, and Karki, who were arrested by the CIB on Tuesday, are in custody, while KC, Deuja, and Kapali, who have already been issued a stay order by the court, have been released on bail.
