Looking at the case against Madhav Nepal, another hearing will be held on Tuesday

Kathmandu. CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has heard the case filed by him demanding an interim order to remove 14 MPs including Madhav Nepal. A joint sitting of Justices Deepak Karki and Kumar Chudal was adjourned on Monday after the deadline expired, Supreme Court spokesperson Baburam Dahal said. Dahal said that the issue was being looked into as the hearing was not over.

Oli has filed a writ petition against Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota and the Election Commission alleging that the Speaker had acted illegally without dismissing the 14 expelled UML MPs and that the Election Commission had registered the CPN (Unified Socialist) on the basis of their identities.

In the writ petition, it has been demanded that the decision of the Speaker not to take action against 14 MPs should be revoked and an interim order should be issued to post the information by implementing the action taken by the UML as per the law. The UML had sent a letter to the Parliament Secretariat and the Election Commission on August 22 expelling 14 lawmakers, including Madhav Kumar Nepal. However, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota did not post the notice of expulsion of the UML lawmaker.
