Kathmandu. The active membership of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s home district Dadeldhura has reached the dispute center. As soon as the center arrives, the agitation has been announced against President Deuba.
Dissatisfied leaders and cadres of Dadeldhura have been staging sit-ins at the NC Central Office, Sanepa since Manshir 1 (November 20), saying that the active membership was distributed against the party’s constitution and the decision of the district working committee. Speaking at a press conference in Sanepa, Dadeldhura Congress president Karna Malla warned that the move would bring a storm if the active membership distributed against the constitution was not rectified.
“We have won Sher Bahadur Deuba from Dadeldhura six times and made him the prime minister and president of the Nepali Congress five times. But under his leadership, honest Congress cadres have been sidelined. We are ready for any movement if our demands are not addressed, ”said Malla. Malla alleged that the active membership list approved by the district in 43 out of 52 wards of Dadeldhura has been manipulated extensively.
“The active membership has been duly rejected by the lower level wards, municipalities, and provinces. The 460 memberships recommended by the district working committee have been rejected and 321 active members have been added without any recommendation from any of the levels. There are many such serious weaknesses,” said Malla. The statement said.
