Again, to resolve the active member dispute before the tenth general convention of the Congress

Kathmandu: A meeting of top leaders held at the official residence of Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in Baluwatar has decided to postpone the date of the General Convention. The meeting held on Wednesday agreed among the leaders to move the date of the Congress General Convention, said Joint General Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat.

Congress has decided to hold its 14th general convention from 9 to 13 Margsir (November). Mahat said that it was agreed to postpone the convention with the conclusion that the convention could not be held within the stipulated time as the convention could not start in the district where the dispute was not resolved. However, no date has been set for the convention.

Discussions are underway to hold the general convention in the last week of Margsir (November) or the first week of Push (December). So far, lower-level conventions have not been held in eight districts. He said that Congress was preparing to resolve the issue of active members before Dashain and start the convention in the districts where the convention has not been held so far.
