Daughter, son, wife, and brother of the common candidate leader of the alliance

Kathmandu: It has been revealed that the ruling coalition has formed an alliance in the local level election only to win the election for the relatives including the daughter, wife, and son. The ruling coalition partners in the six metropolitan candidates have highlighted this fact by selecting candidates from within the families of the leaders for the three posts in the three metropolises.

The mayors of Kathmandu and Bharatpur Municipal Corporations and the deputy mayors of Biratnagar Municipal Corporations are the family members of the top leaders of the coalition.

Congress leader Sirjana Singh, who has been nominated for mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City by the ruling coalition, is not a very active name in politics. Singh, who has not been active in politics since 2046 BS, has been credited with getting the mayor of an important metropolis like Kathmandu by Congress leader Prakash Man Singh, who is also her husband.

According to Congress leaders, Singh, who was contesting for the post of party president at the party’s 14th general convention, had backed Sher Bahadur Deuba in the second phase after his defeat. Deuba has nominated his wife Sirjana for the mayoral post in return for Singh’s support during the local level election.

In Kathmandu, the leader’s wife has become a candidate and in Chitwan, a daughter has become a candidate. Renu Dahal is the daughter of CPN-Maoist Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. As Prachanda’s daughter, the Maoists were again given a major post in Bharatpur.

Ignoring the constitutional requirement that one of the two must be a woman when fielding candidates for local level chief and deputy chief, the coalition has fielded male candidates for both the posts in Biratnagar. Among them, Amarendra Yadav is the son of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) president Upendra Yadav. Yadav has been working in Upendra Yadav’s secretariat for a long time.

Upendra Yadav did not leave Biratnagar alone in the alliance to get his son Amarendra as a candidate. In Bhagwanda, it was almost certain that Amarendra would get the post of deputy mayor of Biratnagar from the alliance.

Realizing this, Umesh Yadav, who had earlier contested for the post of the mayor on behalf of Jaspa in the 2014 election and got the third most popular vote, had left the party only three days ago. Yadav had polled 14,958 votes in the 2014 local elections. He has given his candidature for mayor from Swatantra on Sunday.

Similarly, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khan has also nominated his brother. Taking advantage of the alliance, Home Minister Khan has also made his brother Ram Krishna Khan the mayoral candidate of Tilotta municipality. Earlier, with the support of the Rashtriya Janamukti Party, the mine has given a chance to the mine to win this time through an alliance with the Maoists and the CPN-Maoist.
