Port of Spain: Team India defeated West Indies by 119 runs in the third ODI to clean sweep the series 3-0. The Indian team has been playing the ODI series in West Indies for 39 years and for the first time, they have got success in cleaning the Caribbean team at their home.
In the third ODI, India won the toss and decided to bat first. India scored 225 runs in 36 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Shubman Gill was unbeaten on 98. Captain Shikhar Dhawan scored 58 and Shreyas Iyer scored 44 runs. Then it started raining heavily and the Indian innings ended there.
West Indies got a target of 257 runs in 35 overs under the Duckworth Lewis rule, but the Caribbean team was reduced to 137 runs in 26 overs. Brandon King and Nicholas Pooran scored 42-42. Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took 4 wickets. Mohammad Siraj and Shardul Thakur got 2 wickets each. Akshar Patel and Famous Krishna got 1-1 success.
