Chief Commissioner Thapalia’s commitment to conduct the general elections in a fair and fearless manner

Kathmandu: The Election Commission has expressed its commitment to carry out the general elections in a fair, reliable, frugal, and fearless manner with the participation of more people by adopting the good practices adopted earlier.

While reviewing the progress of the local level election, 2079 election campaign, and voter education program held here today by the commission, the commission has expressed its determination to make the election historically successful by incorporating the suggestions, feedback and good practices received earlier during the election.

The Commission has expressed its concern that in the last local level elections, the votes of the educated people of the urban areas were less than the uneducated people of the remote villages and emphasized that the attention of the responsible mass media should be taken into this regard.

Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapalia clarified that due to the short period of time, he could not do as much work as he thought in the last local level elections, and expressed his determination to complete the elections of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly to be held on November 4th in a simple, easy and frugal manner, including the good aspects of the previous ones.

Chief Election Commissioner Thapalia clarified that the commission is in favor of holding the upcoming general elections in partnership and cooperation with all the responsible agencies of the state including mass media.

Mentioning that the state-run mass media will play an important role during the election campaign, he requested everyone to participate in the election process by making maximum use of their resources.
