Kathmandu. Political parties and candidates will be allowed to hold processions, public meetings, and corner meetings from Thursday. Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapalia informed that according to the predetermined program of the commission, processions, public meetings, and corner meetings can be held from today till the 2nd of mangsir. He has also urged the parties and candidates to follow the code of conduct by safeguarding the integrity of the election in this state of campaigning.
In a press conference organized by the commission on Wednesday, the day before entering the second phase of campaigning, Chief Commissioner Thapalia said that the code of conduct is a moral and legal bond and everyone should follow it. He said that the clarifications asked of 71 individuals and organizations will be answered, the work of gathering facts and studies is underway and a decision will be reached by Kartik 25. Similarly, Chief Commissioner Thapalia said that the candidates for the election to be held on the 4th of mangsir should submit their expenditure details by the 19th of mangsir and they will also audit the accounts.
