According to the Hindu calendar, the Teej festival is celebrated every year on Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of July. It is also called Hariyali Teej or Shravani Teej. On this day, married women pray for the longevity of their husbands and fast. Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva are worshiped on this day. Married women fast on Hariyali Teej to wish their husbands a long life and children. On the other hand, unmarried girls do this fast to find a suitable husband.
On this day, women do sixteen makeups. Due to the importance of green color in Hariyali Teej, women wear green sarees and green glass bangles on this day.
When is Hariyali Teej 2080?
According to the Hindu Almanac, the Tritiya Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of the month of July will start at 8:01 PM on the 1st of Ashwin. It will end the next day on Ashwin 2 at 10.19 p.m. Hariyali Teej festival is celebrated on Ashwin 2nd according to Uday Tithi.
