Kathmandu, June : Lawmakers have demanded curtailment of expenditure of different offices, saying the government allocated more budget than necessary. In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, they presented a proposal seeking to cut down the expenditure of Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Secretariat of National Planning Commission and Office of the President and Vice-President to Rs 1.
They also demanded scrap of the Investment Board Nepal, ruling out its existence. Similarly, Minendra Prasad Rijal suggested that the government should move ahead as per the law.
Likewise, Jeevanram Shrestha and Rajendra Kumar KC said that the government should involve itself in resolving day to day problems of the people. Lawmaker Dilendra Prasad Badu asked why the issue of Lipulekh pass was not raised during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s recent official visit to China.
Likewise, Krishna Prasad Dahal complained that victims of earthquake of April 2015 are still deprived of relief due to problems surfaced in the national reconstruction authority. Other participants like Ram Bahadur Bista, Sarala Yadav and Mohan Baniya viewed that PM Oli’s China trip would help reach people-to-people ties between Nepal and China to a new height.
