‘Fight local elections on the strength of your own party, not on the strength of an alliance’ : Dahal

Kathmandu. Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Dahal has said that he will not contest the election in the coalition forces after reaching Rolpa. Stating that the alliance was formed under special political circumstances, Dahal pointed out that domestic and foreign forces were working to break the alliance.

He claimed that he would go to the polls on the strength of his own party and get the result in his favor. He said, “We will contest the local elections on the strength of our own party and not on the strength of the alliance.” Dahal, who reached Rolpa after a long interval, said that coordination would be done on the basis of need.

Meanwhile, former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara said that the entire country has gone to the polls. He said the alliance was needed now. He argues that it would be better to form alliances and coordination at the local level in the metropolitan, sub-metropolitan and district headquarters.

Recalling that Rolpa was made the base area for the preparation of the people’s war and the last time he stayed in Rolpa for two years, Dahal said that he was happy when Rolpa came after seven years. Prachanda observed Sita Memorial Park from a helicopter.
