Kathmandu. More than 250,000 security personnel from various security agencies will be mobilized for the local-level election. Necessary preparations are being made by the security forces to fight the election after the government formulated an integrated security plan for the Baishakh 30 election. Security personnel from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army, and National Investigation Department will be deployed.
Additional term police is being recruited and deployed. According to the Naxal Police Headquarters, more than 62,000 police personnel will be deployed from the Nepal Police. Similarly, temporary police personnel will be paid Rs 1 lakh. It is said that 32,000 security personnel from the Armed Police Force and 70,000 security personnel from the Army are preparing for the clash.
After the Election Commission finalized the polling stations and polling booths for the local level election, all the security forces have stepped up their preparations. The commission has stated that 10,756 polling stations and 21,955 polling booths have been set up across the country.
It is planned to mobilize security personnel by dividing it into three levels from the security point of view. Accordingly, the polling station has been divided into three levels namely hypersensitive, sensitive and general.
A meeting with the security agencies at the Ministry of Home Affairs explained the security sensitivities. 2,945 polling stations are considered highly sensitive. Similarly, the Central Security Committee has concluded that 4,420 polling stations are sensitive and 3,391 polling stations are normal.
