Russia-Ukraine War: Russia’s occupation of Ukraine’s Svyarodonetsk region

Kyiv. The war between Russia and Ukraine has reached its fifth month. Meanwhile, Ukraine claimed that it received heavy bombing from neighboring Belarus on Saturday.

Officials say more than 40 missiles have been fired from Belarusian airspace. Most of these missiles have targeted military targets.

The special thing is that shortly after this attack, Russian President Vladimir V. Putin met Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko. The Northern Military Command says 20 rockets were fired at the village of Desna in the Northern Chernihiv region.

Russia claimed to have captured the Ukrainian city of Severodnetsk. Alexander Stryk, mayor of Svyarodonetsk, the administrative center of the Luhansk region, said on Saturday that Russia had been attacking Ukraine’s key eastern city for several days. Most of the city area was destroyed by the heavy bombing.

He told that before the Russian attack, the population of the city was about one million, which has now come down to just 10 thousand. Most of the people left the city because of the bombing. At the same time, some Ukrainian soldiers along with about 500 civilians are hiding in an Azot chemical factory located on the edge of the city.

The Russian military carried out two missile strikes in the Rivne region. Due to this a lot of damage has been done in the populated area. The head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration, Vitaly Koval, gave this information. He said that no information has been revealed about how many people were harmed in these attacks. Since the evening of June 25, air strike sirens were sounding in most areas of Ukraine.
