Kathmandu. The transport workers announced an indefinite traffic stop in protest against the attack on the workers and the leaders of the organizations related to the workers by Sunil Kunwar, the general manager of Lotse Multipurpose Pvt Ltd, the contractor company of the new bus park located in Gangbu. Transport workers protested at the Balaju Bypass area today.
They stated that Kunwar was attacked by a group of 30 unknown people including employees of Lotsa, Pankaj Mall, and Himal Kunwar. Bhimjwala Rai, president of Nepal Transport Independent Workers’ Organization, Dharmaraj Bhandari, president of Nepal Transport Workers’ Union, and Deepak KC, president of All Nepal Transport Workers’ Union issued a joint statement and announced that public transport will not run from tomorrow.
In the statement, it is mentioned that all vehicles in the valley will be closed until their ten-point demands are met. In the case of outside the valley, they have appealed to continue the predetermined program until further decision.
