Kathmandu: Inspector General of Nepal Police Vasant Bahadur Kunwar has canceled his visit to America. He was scheduled to go on Monday at the invitation of the US government.
IGP Kunwar canceled the visit after the investigation against high-ranking officials in the fraud case related to Bhutanese refugees. Joint Police Spokesperson SSP Dipendra Ji confirmed that Inspector General Kunwar’s visit has been canceled. However, he said he did not know the reason.
Although the Council of Ministers approved the visit, he decided not to go on the advice of the government. AIG Kiran Bajracharya, Sudeep Giri, and DIG Ram Dutt Joshi are going to attend the program.
MP Paudel emphasized that instead of building huge towers and physical infrastructure, work should be done in areas such as education, health, and employment that people directly feel.
