Kathmandu: A writ has been registered in the Supreme Court to annul the law that allows VIPs and VVIPs to receive medical expenses from the state fund. On Wednesday, advocates Radhika Chamlagai and Swagat Nepal filed a writ against the President’s Office, the Government of Nepal, the Parliament Secretariat, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Law.
Swagat Nepal has informed that they have filed a writ expressing doubts about the statement that the president will cover his own medical expenses. It is said that a writ has been filed to annul the law itself, saying that the expression of taking expenses from the state fund whenever they want and taking the expenses themselves when opposed is irresponsible.
The advocates emphasized that the law should be repealed saying that many people at many levels are looting the country through many such laws, as the law of looting is still alive despite the fact that there is a lot of wealth. It is said that the constitutional bench will look into the same case that was fixed on the 27th. Advocates have requested young legal professionals to advocate for this for free.
