Kathmandu. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal announced on Tuesday that a diplomatic initiative has been started with China to turn Pokhara International Airport’s loan into a subsidy. He said that the debt was increased because the country was not able to earn from the airport. This happened after the opposition MP Chand Choudhary raised questions about the growing deficit and growing debt, and the Prime Minister of Nepal said that talks are underway to convert the debt into a grant. A committee has been formed to study public-private sector cooperation for flight operations from Pokhara International Airport.
He said that the necessary preparations will be made for the operation of the airport based on the report prepared by the committee. Prime Minister Dahal has said that all necessary financial management will be coordinated.
