New Zealand, Wellington, 19 January: Opener Martin Guptill scored his 13th century in the 50-over format to help New Zealand register 15 runs victory in the fifth ODI to complete a series sweep over Pakistan in Wellington on Friday.
After opting to bat first, the Black Caps registered more than competitive 271 for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 50 overs, courtesy Guptil’s 100 off 126 balls with the help of 10 fours and one six.
Ahmad Shahzad returns for New Zealand T20Is : He was well supported by veteran middle-order batsman Ross Taylor, who scored 59 off 73 including three fours. For Pakistan, pacer Rumman Raees was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed three, whereas all-rounder Fahim Ashraf claimed two wickets.
Arthur confident Pakistan can upset New Zealand : In reply, the Men in Green once again had a horrid start and lost half of their side for 57 in the 17th over.
A 105-run sixth-wicket partnership brought the visitors back in the game, but the resistance of lower order was not as the visitors were eventually bowled out for 256 in second last over of the day.
